HIS LAST WORDS:
"I'd like to address the MacPhail family. Let you know, despite the situation you are in, I'm not the one who personally killed your son, your father, your brother. I am innocent.
The incident that happened that night is not my fault. I did not have a gun. All I can ask ... is that you look deeper into this case so that you really can finally see the truth.
I ask my family and friends to continue to fight this fight.
For those about to take my life, God have mercy on your souls. And may God bless your souls."
UPDATE:10:23pm 9/21/11 US Supreme Court DENIES Stay of Exucution of Troy Davis.....There were NO dissents...Word is that the Execution is NOW under Way.

As I write this I have ALL three news channels on TV...Have Demorcracy Now Web cast on.....Breaking News web site....Just to name few.

Troy Davis was supposed to be executed at 7pm East Coast time in Jackson, Georgia, 47 miles from Atlanta this September 21, 2011.

But a last ditch effort plea to the US Supreme Court has delayed this for an VERY unusual amount of time as the nine justices here this case for a stay of execution of Troy Davis as his lawyers say they plan an appeal.

"It is killing me, to tell you the truth. I don't know what to expect anymore," said Anneliese MacPhail, mother of Mark MacPhail, the man Davis was convicted of killing in 1989.

Though Davis' attorneys say seven of nine key witnesses against him have disputed all or parts of their testimony, state and federal judges have repeatedly ruled against granting him a new trial. As the court losses piled up Wednesday, his offer to take a polygraph test was rejected and the pardons board refused to give him one more hearing.

Troy Anthony Davis (born October 9, 1968 - September 21, 2011) is an American death row inmate convicted of the August 19, 1989, murder of Savannah, Georgia, police officer Mark MacPhail. MacPhail was working as a security guard at a Burger King when he intervened to defend a man being assaulted in a nearby parking lot. During Davis’ 1991 trial, witnesses testified they had seen Davis shoot MacPhail, and two others testified that Davis confessed to them. Although the murder weapon was not recovered, ballistic evidence presented at trial tied bullets recovered at or near the scene to those at another shooting in which Davis was also charged. Davis was convicted of murder and various lesser charges, including the earlier shooting, and was sentenced to death in August 1991.
